Gill works in her Keene, Nh studio creating luscious pastel paintings that illuminate the subject with a richness of color, texture, and sense of  an intimate connection to a special moment or place. Her subject matter varies according to what inspires her: the beauty she finds in her gardens; the arrangement of objects in a still life that brings with it the magic of creating 3-d forms on a 2-d surface; her love of lakes and rivers; the visual stories she sees in her travels and in city life; and the challenge of experimenting with abstraction. There is a story behind each painting, as well as the fun of creating titles to go with them! "I get such pleasure listening to people who have taken the time to look at my work and share their reactions to it, each response being as unique as the individual who sees it, bringing it to life through their own eyes. "Living in the Monadnock Region makes it easy for me to find inspirational subject matter, particularly in its beautiful rivers, ponds and lakes which offer safe habitats for NH wildlife and capture the light and colors reflected on its surfaces. I get such pleasure being on the water in my kayak, feeling the peacefulness of these surroundings, enjoying the company of heron, loons and turtles, and collecting resource images for future paintings, of which I have done many. I feel very lucky!”
