About
Bob Englund, the Granite Lake Woodturner, has found woodturning to be a perfect retirement avocation. He creates lamps and bud-vases from fireplace wood, intentionally including segments of bark and untouched rough surfaces created by the woodsplitter to be part of the final product. He sometimes retrieves logs from the roadside from which he makes vases and bowls. Intentionally incorporating defects in the final products, he refers to holes and other irregularities as “artistic embellishments”.
