Artist statement
I have been a professional landscape gardener in the Monadnock region for the past 33 years and while I consider designing gardens an artful practice, I also want to share their beauty through my oil and watercolor paintings. Gardens are filled with qualities such as color, light, shadow, temperature and rhythm and hopefully evoke feelings of excitement and joy but also contemplation and peace. I hope that those same qualities of my paintings will convey some, or all of those feelings to the viewer. My gardens in Nelson will be available for FFAST visitors to walk through and see much of what inspires my art.
