​Artist Statement

I’ve been involved with wood for most of my live.  My first project, a baseball bat, I turned in my school’s 9th grade shop class.  

Wood has always fascinated me from both the beauty it adds to life and the structural importance it serves.

Old timers knew which species to use for different applications and artisans know which species to use for the beauty it adds to a project. 

As a lutherie, basket maker, house builder and cabinet maker I have a lifetime of experience I bring to my craft in the form of useful and or artistic turnings.
