Artist Statement

Al Karevy is a long time commercial and art photographer in Keene, New Hampshire. After many years of photography experimentation, Al has discovered photo-polymer etching. 

 

Last year, Al built a timber frame barn in Richmond to replace his studio in Keene. It is dedicated to printmaking. 

 

Al uses photo-polymer etching plates with images from photographs (both digital and film based}, photograms, and chemigrams (made in a traditional photo darkroom). 

 

 He often overprints several plates for an unworldly abstract, while also sometimes printing 

 

a straight photograph as an etching.
